Harper Howard Celebration of Life – Never Give Up Hope

Harper’s life, her way

Today many people came to CELEBRATE Harper! And so many more were unable to attend in person but have been thinking about her so much lately. Loving messages have been left on my Facebook wall, even videos of balloons being released to honor Harper. Thank you.

I HOPE that you NEVER FORGET HER! This post is designed to make you feel as though you didn’t miss a thing! There is a slideshow of images taken by Desiree Chapman from today at the end of this post.

From the beginning we have shared Harper’s story with you

It was hard to get the words out. But I have never missed an opportunity to advocate for Harper. Or to speak for her when she could not. So I could NOT miss this day!

From the beginning we have shared Harper’s story with you….with the world… in an effort to HELP HARPER SPREAD HOPE! In sharing that HOPE 4 HARPER, we have learned much more…

From Dustin, TRUST
From Lily, LOVE
And Seth…well, we are definitely still learning but I would use the word GROW!

We have learned to GROW!

I want to THANK everyone who helped to make this day possible. It truly took a village to care for Harper.

I want to THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU for joining us as we CELEBRATE today!
As we CELEBRATE HARPER!
As we CELEBRATE her legacy.
And as we CELEBRATE HOPE!

Hope is what makes the path laid before us easier to follow

Yes, Harper lived just 5 short years. But in those 5 years, without ever saying a single word, she accomplished more than I have in 38. And she did it all HER WAY! By simply following HIS WAY! As her parents we could not be more proud!

This is why I feel the song MY WAY sung by Elvis Presley is meant 4 HARPER!

Her eyes closed, but Harper is not asleep

Harper’s body was left for science and her spirit commenced to the Lord! Today Scotte Green said her eyes are closed, but Harper is not asleep. She is free.

She is whole. She is without pain.

Thanks to the power of a plant (RSHO Industrial Hemp Oil from HempMeds) Harper truly LIVED in her last 28 months while battling all the complications of her devastating disorder, CDKL5.

But because of HEMP she lived it with seizure control. 2015 was the absolute BEST YEAR of her life so she left on a high note! Her life was not going to get any easier as she grew older but we would have honorably continued to serve her each and every day as a family for as long and as complicated as her life would have become.

Instead, Harper made the ultimate sacrifice of her life, so that someday others may be able to LIVE through CDKL5 or quite possibly be cured from CDKL5. She proved RSHO works and left the rest to science. May she Rest In Peace and Rejoice in the LORD!

When the darkness appears and the night draws near
And the day is past and gone
At the river I stand
Guide my feet, hold my hand
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I’m tired, I’m weak, I’m lone
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

-Elvis Presley

If you did not get the opportunity to know Harper, she was an amazing girl with a sassy spirit. And over the last 28 months we discovered so much about her including her love for Elvis and much more which can be seen on Harper’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

Although her body is gone her legacy of Hope lives on. Through those who loved Harper, her story will continue to be told.

Share your memories of Harper

You will see from the slideshow that there were several tables set up in the lobby with the many mementos of the milestones of our life with Harper. We asked each visitor to fill out a memory card that will be placed in Harper’s memory box. Download the card here and mail your memory to Hope4Harper, PO Box 116952, Carrollton, TX 75011.
